ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES

1. Many National Research Projects were guided or taken part in, such as the water quality assessments of mercury, lead, cadmium and copper pollution in many rivers and lakes of China.

2. In cooperation with the Germany scientists guided the project of UNESCO on the pollution survey of Boyang Lake for 6 years.

3.Opened in China the research and development field on the inorganic polymer flocculants and engaged in this area for decades.  Constructed modern plants to produce these reagents for water and wastewater treatment.

4. Editor in chief of Journal “Acta Scientiae Circumstantiae” , Editor in chief of “Journal of Environmetal Sciences”(SCI)

Research interests

Aquatic particulates and micro-surface complexation. Adsorption, surface structure and reactions. Equilibrium and dynamic modelling. Sediment quality criteria. Coagulation and flocculation processes, Inorganic polymer flocculants. Surface contact coagulation technology. Nano-pollutants and nano-materials in aquatic system.
